Sweta Basu Prasad – Biography

Swetha Basu Prasad is the new heartthrob of the Telugu industry and specially the youth. She was born to a Bengali mother and a U.P father in the state of Jharkhand on the 10th of October, 1991. She hails from the steel city, Jamshedpur. Her stay there lasted for just three years after which the family shifted to Mumbai.

As a Child Artist, Swetha acted with the renowned Shabana Azmi in the film ‘Makdi.’ The performance won her the best Child Artiste National award from the hands of ex-President, Abdul Kalam. Luck had offered her a double role in her very first film which she had executed with a lot of interest. She was also awarded Internationally as the Best Supporting Actress at the Karachi film Festival. Then she played the role of a Muslim girl in ‘Iqbal’. She was applauded by Nasseruddin Shah who also casted in the same film. In a Bengali movie she had Mithun Chakraborty acting with her. The naughty girl says that she always used her opportunities to learn from the senior artists.

The actress got her recognition in the Telugu film industry after her mature emotion portrayals in ‘Kotta Bangaru Lokam’, the script of which is described by her to be fresh. It was the new language and culture that she thoroughly enjoyed in Andhra Pradesh. ’Ride’ was the following venture.
